Key Outcomes
The event highlighted the importance of Universal Acceptance in ensuring a multilingual Internet that includes all peoples and cultures.
A successful practical experience was presented to integrate the Amazigh language in Tifinagh script into the global digital infrastructure through the creation of a domain name and email system supporting Unicode and EAI standards.
The event also contributed to raising awareness about the importance of digitally preserving Indigenous languages and connecting them with modern technology.
The meeting brought together experts from ICANN and UNESCO, along with university professors and researchers, strengthening discussions on digital justice and linguistic diversity.
The Moroccan experience demonstrated how local civil society can contribute to developing innovative digital solutions that support Indigenous languages and promote their presence in the global Internet ecosystem.
Follow-Up Actions
- Continuing the development of digital infrastructure supporting the Amazigh language in Tifinagh script
- Organizing technical workshops and training sessions on Universal Acceptance and EAI
- Encouraging institutions to adopt multilingual domain names and email addresses
- Expanding the experience to other Indigenous African languages

The event included practical demonstrations of:
- Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs)
- Email Address Internationalization (EAI)
- Unicode compatibility testing
- WordPress Universal Acceptance readiness
